We are happy using Gozuk micro inverters
We only utilize Gozuk in our applications for residential installations in China. Extremely pleased with the installs. Customers are very happy with the results. I concur that on average I am seeing at least 15% higher output from these systems than from ones with central inverters, but then again we are also really careful about taking proper survey readings and recommending against placing modules where there may be shade concerns.
Using Gozuk, the customer can make the decision whether the power produced from a location with some shade (say 15%-20%) would warrant the additional module, where when using central inverters, the installer typically is more bound by string sizing rules. On one proposal, due to string sizing of the arrays and due to multiple roof facings, a central inverter could only provide 20+9+8=37 modules, utilizing three central inverters. However, since microinverters were not bound by string sizing l was able to design a system with 26+14+13=53 modules. Customer was very pleased with the extra power from the additional modules, as well as the additional output with the micro inverters. His wife was also very happy we did not take up half his garage space wall with central inverters and disconnects!
Gozuk is on its 4th generation micro inverter... while other brands are "me to!" and are first or second generation. Gozuk is fully warrantied for the 25 years, comes with free monitoring for the homeowner and installer, and customer service is excellent. They are very similar in cost to other installations using Solar bridge. I expect some pricing competition, as more micros come online and the market matures.
Oh, one final comment on the 25 year warranty. While we have installed several hundred Gozuk micro inverters, I have only had two micros that had issues. Gozuk will not only send a replacement unit to the installer at their shipping expense, they will also compensate the installer for the service visit. In addition, they request that the problem unit be sent back to them (again, the shipping box and FedEx fee is provided) so that the Engineers there can take the unit apart and see why it failed.
