Off Grid Solar System
Not all solar photovoltaic systems are used for net metering or solar farm applications. If you research Off Grid Solar applications; there are more off grid solar applications over net metering or solar farms. Not in watts but actual locations. A good standard Off Grid Solar system is designed to produce electric power and store that power for up to 5 days without the sun shinning. The batteries actually store the power to meet the electrical load. The Solar panels refill the electric power back into the batteries. This is the most cost effective and reliable solution. Take a battery that is 12 volt 1000 AMP. You only want to use at the most 30% of the batteries stored energy. This is 3,600 watts. Here in the United States that type of battery cost $100.00. In math that cost is 3 cents a watt for storage. The more batteries the more storage you have. In mass you can store more energy in a battery than any other device and is cost effective. Batteries last for years. How long will the large salt tank, hot water last? Don't get me wrong. The sun's energy is the most powerful energy on earth. We need to collect that energy and most of the time we need to store the energy for longer periods of time. Solar thermal system require moving parts. Why not install a DC generator to the heat motor. Now you don't need to use water and you have all the storage you can ever use.
Batteries can store electric power for a very long time. In a off grid photovoltaic system you need batteries to meet the demand or electrical loads when the sun does not shine or at night. As far as I know solar thermal cannot do this. I guess if solar thermal used heavy water like a nuke type water it would hold the heat longer. But I doubt if it can hold the energy for over 72 hours and be effective. I don't know I would have to study the subject more. In a off grid PV system the main power comes from batteries and the solar panels all they have to do is recharge the batteries before the sun goes down. We never discharge a bank of batteries below 20% thus the batteries last sometimes up to 15 years. This is dependent on keeping the batteries full and away from heat. But it has been working since 1968. These systems have been working every day and night for the last 42. Off Grid Solar Systems operate without water, fuel or mechanical devices. Solar PV is more expensive than solar thermal. But show me one other way to produce electric power that is as reliable and sustainable. All the other forms of generating electric power are old mechanical generating systems. Solar PV is solid state without moving parts that can break, rust or wearout. Someone once told me that you cannot generate electric power 24 hours a day using solar PV. I proved him wrong and won the bet. This system is coming in the next 12-14 months. It is not perpetual or a over unity thing. This is the most advanced electric generator ever. I will be copied by everyone that wants to get into Power Purchase Agreements. I don't care if the product is reproduced. What I do care about is future generations.
