Key solar points for the reform of German Renewable Law
Opening a two-day cabinet retreat, Merkel and Gabriel, who also chairs the SPD, acknowledged that pricing and start-up problems with renewables would be the focus. "That's a project for the whole federal government and not just a project of a single minister," Merkel said, adding that Gabriel's revision had her absolute support. By 2022 Germany plans to have increased its share of power generated by renewable sources to 40 percent, or 45 percent by 2025.
The current share is nearly 24 percent, although recent figures showing a rise in output from coal-fired power stations alarmed environmentalists.
Key solar points for the reform of the German Renewable Law (EEG):
In Germany, the Social Democrat alliance has taken pro public measures and has exposed the earlier pro industry (read as Crony) policy making of Christian Democrat etc, despite being in Alliance, in INDIA, can we expect this....no no no... we can expect only 2G, CWG, Coalgate, RailGate etc with alliance + major opposition party with candid support too.... this is the basic difference between INDIAN DEMOCRACY and EUROPEAN EMOCRACY.....which lack transparency and Pro PUBLIC policy making.

Key solar points for the reform of the German Renewable Law (EEG):
- Target of 2,500 MW per year, with current indirect quantity control via breathing cap concept to continue (which presently contains a 2,500 to 3,500 MW target corridor in Sec. 20a EEG)
- Solar power is often consumed to a certain extent by the operators themselves (in particular energy generated in rooftop plants). Under the current EEG self consumed power as such is privileged (cf. Section 37 para. 3 sent. 2)
