Grid solar system in India
We have been installing off the grid solar systems for over 40 years. I did not see any place for power loss due to wires or inverters. I think the way we look at taking homes off the grid is to start with the worst month's electric bills and because of our solar PV technology we actually get up to 12 hours a day out of our panels. We always start at the worst month's or biggest KW hour bills we even add more than that bill and that is because when a customer realizes that electric power is free; they never turn anything off. We are taking two large industrial sites off the grid in India not far from Sampath.... He is right about 365 days of sun light. One of the sites uses a 6 MW diesel generator because during the peak power period India's power company turns the grid off. India has a big problem with the demand side of energy. In the north of India we are also installing 2 solar power plants. Unlike solar farms we use batteries as the main source of power to the large inverters. The panels only charge the batteries. This area of India does not turn off the power in the day or night. We are finding that because of the old design of the grid in most places of the world the grid is failing. Dominican Republic is a very good example. I liked what you did for estimating a off the grid solar system but you might be missing the losses and I know from experience people once they know electric power is free they never turn things off. Also since there are 720 hours a month we use that to figure out the KW per hour.
The "inefficiencies" cell should represent energy that is lost in Ohmic losses, miss-matches and efficiency derates and etc. Basically a way to take into account the energy that the load should have gotten it, but got lost away. My advice there is 5-10% highly depending on the project and system in question.
